About Emma Gray

At the age of 35, Emma’s husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer. As well as being faced with losing the love of her life, overnight she had to come to terms with so much: the shock of the day-to-day reality of bringing up two young bereaved children alone, becoming the breadwinner in the family and being the carer to her increasingly poorly partner.

Emma found the experience difficult, isolating and lonely and she battled with her demons whilst everyone else appeared to be getting on with their seemingly happy, normal, family lives.

Nonetheless, even on the most challenging of days, Emma discovered what she called Rainbow Hunting – looking for the smallest breaks in the clouds and rain to find hope and joy, even in her darkest times....
