Sudden is a charitable initiative for suddenly bereaved people and the people caring for them. The vision of Sudden is a world where everyone suddenly bereaved gets the help they need at a time of darkness to move forwards to a brighter day. Our mission is to ease the suffering of people bereaved by any kind of sudden death through our helpline and resources.

Average 600,000 UK deaths per annum + Covid19 deaths 2020/21 – approximately 130,000 = 730,000 deaths
One person dies every minute in the UK
Every 22 minutes a parent dies, leaving 112 children left bereaved every day
The UK does not have a statutory bereavement policy for all schools
