Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice provides a range of end of life care and support in people’s homes, in the community and at the Hospice, offering people more choice wherever and whenever they need it.
In April 2020, Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice launched a new bereavement telephone service, providing free one-to-one support to those who are 18+, living in Birmingham and Sandwell and are struggling with the loss of a loved one. Experienced volunteers will provide a safe, confidential place where an individual can talk through their thoughts and feelings without judgement.
Individuals do not have to be a patient or family member known to the Hospice to access this support. This new service can be accessed by anybody who has been bereaved, no matter how the person died or how long ago the loss was.
Individuals can refer themselves to the service by sending an email with their name and number to [email protected] or by calling Beth Hopkins, Bereavement Counsellor on 07966 165287. Professionals can also refer on behalf of their client by completing and submitting the referral form on our website: https://www.birminghamhospice.org.uk/bereavement-referral/”
