For National Grief Awareness Week 2025, Brass Bathtub presents Unspoken Sorrows — an exhibition of paintings by Nu McAdam and an installation by guest artist Mary DeLiso of the Brighton Death Collective.

The exhibition concludes a two-year, UK-wide disability-arts project led by McAdam, a quadriplegic mouth painter exploring grief, healing, and creative expression. Developed through workshops and peer exchanges with disabled participants, Unspoken Sorrows reflects on how art can transform grief into connection and collective understanding.

Produced by Brass Bathtub, the exhibition provides an accessible, reflective space for conversation and rest. Small public events, led by McAdam and supported by Marion Déprez (Brass Bathtub)and Mary DeLiso (Brighton Death Collective) will explore how experiences of grief within the disabled community may differ from those without disability.

“My experiences with counselling, until I found a way to advocate for myself, were limited and difficult to access. I wanted to put my grief into a place where others could relate to it and consider how to express themselves without boundaries.” — Nu McAdam
