At St Christopher’s
we put people at the heart of everything we do. We believe that all dying
people and those close to them deserve to have the best care and support,
wherever and whenever they need it. We do all we can to make this happen, providing
physical, emotional and spiritual support to over 7,500 people across south
east London every year. People like you, your
mum, your dad, your nan, your sister, your friend, your neighbour.
Many people think
hospices are sad, depressing places but that couldn’t be further from the
truth. We are more than just a hospice; we are the 1,350 volunteers who give
their time to make sure people nearing the end of their life and their friends
and family know how important they are. We are more than just a hospice; we are
the hundreds of staff who work together round the clock to care for people in
their homes, care homes or in our hospice buildings. We are more than just a
hospice; we are the educators who are passionate about end of life care and
provide courses to people all over the world to make sure that hospice services
are available for more and more people, wherever they are and whatever their
circumstances. We are more than just a hospice; we are the communities of
people who fundraise tirelessly through all weathers to raise the £16m we need
each year to continue to be here.
